One thing that’s often overlooked when a person uses a computer for the first time is the most basic functionality - using a mouse. It’s easy to forget learning how to direct and click a mouse, what each button means and how cursors work when we all use them so often.
For a first-time computer user, this is the first skill to master. We have two favorite websites for learning mouse skills:
MouseProgram.com - This program is a little more entertaining than some of the others and uses the image of a squirrell to demonstrate different mouse skills. Topics include “Moving the Mouse”, “Left Clicking”, “Right Clicking”, “Double Clicking”, “Scrolling”, “Dragging and Dropping” and “Text Selection”
SeniorNet.org - This website is a little more simplified, covering only “Placing the mouse”, “Clicking the mouse”, “Drag and drop” and “Drawing with the mouse”.
